VDI: Virtual Desktops
A desktop infrastructure where data stays in the centre rather than on the device, accessible securely from anywhere. From design to monitoring.
Who is it for?
- Businesses with several branches or production sites and no central IT team, where each location has accumulated different hardware and configurations.
- Companies with remote or hybrid staff, subcontract engineers or seasonal workers who do not want company data copied to personal computers.
- Defence-industry suppliers handling sensitive design or production data that must not stay on devices, and that need access control and audit trails.
- SMEs for whom the hardware refresh cycle (new computers every 3 to 4 years) has become a strain and setup and maintenance grow with headcount.
Common problems
- A separate physical computer for every employee, left for years on different Windows versions and patch levels.
- Not knowing what company data sits on a departing employee's computer, or whether it was wiped securely on return.
- Remote staff connecting to the company network from personal devices with out-of-date security software.
- Limited-licence engineering software installed on every machine anyway, inflating both licence cost and hardware needs.
What we do
Design and sizing
Capacity based on user profiles.
Deployment
Infrastructure, image, access.
Profile management
Fast sign-in, persistent settings.
Application delivery
Central application management.
Monitoring
Session and performance tracking.
Cost optimisation
Automatic scaling.
What we deliver
- An analysis of whether current applications and workflows can move to a virtual desktop, and with what performance requirements.
- Setting up the virtual desktop infrastructure in the cloud or on premises, recommending one of the two models based on data sensitivity.
- Central management of user profiles and personal settings, so the same desktop appears from any device.
- Central packaging and delivery of applications, assigned from one point to all users or specific groups.
- Access and multi-factor authentication integration, session records and usage monitoring.
- Performance and capacity monitoring and cost optimisation, plus one-click access removal when staff leave and a work model that leaves no data on devices.
How we work
Analysis
User and application profile.
Design
Architecture and cost.
Pilot
Trial with a small group.
Rollout
Migration, monitoring, improvement.
Compliance link
In a virtual desktop model, corporate data is held in a central, protected environment rather than on devices, which aligns directly with the KVKK technical measures on the security of the environment holding data and on restricting access. Central update and patch management and asset inventory come naturally when all desktops are managed from one point. ISO 27001 access control and asset management controls also turn into concrete evidence (logs, session records) in this setup.

Frequently asked questions
What is VDI (a virtual desktop)?
It is a way of running a desktop on a central server or in the cloud instead of on the employee's computer, delivering the screen and interaction to the user's own device over the network.
What is the concrete advantage of a virtual desktop for an SME?
Because data is not kept on the device, the risk of leakage from a lost or stolen device drops; updates and application delivery are done from one point; and access can be cut instantly when someone leaves.
Does a virtual desktop require a powerful computer?
No. Processing happens on the server side, so a relatively simple device (even an older computer) may be enough on the user side, which can reduce the need for hardware refresh.
Is VDI right for every business?
No. For small businesses with weak internet connectivity or few staff at a fixed location, classic desktop management may be simpler and cheaper. The decision should follow the usage scenario.
Is VDI the same as a remote desktop connection?
No. A remote desktop connection usually connects to a physical computer, whereas in VDI the user is assigned a virtual desktop built on central infrastructure and scaled to need.
